1. School... Love it! (HiccupXReader) (Modern AU)

Summer had just ended and you were excited to start, or more so finish your senior year in high school. You were sick of school and wanted it to finally be over completely. Although things weren’t so bad for you. You had your best friend Nichole, or Nik, with you. She had been with you through thick and thin and was always there for you like any best friend would be.

You were walking to school, and stopped by Nik’s house so you could walk to school with her. She came to the door with her favorite shirt, a ‘keep calm and myth on’ written on the front in reference to myth busters. Her hair a dark curly brown and her signature glasses riding low on the bridge of her nose and over her shoulder hung a tan messenger bag.  The two of you instantly started talking about how summer had been for you guys.
“So, any new boyfriends?” Nik asked you teasingly.

“No, I’m kinda over dating, I keep getting guys who are too boring. All they do is play video games, eat and complain about their parents. They lack any motivation.” You said annoyed by the truth. “What about you?”

“Nah, guys seem to get intimidated by the fact that I know more about cars, bikes, explosions and fire than they do.” Nik said. She was into repairing cars since her uncle owned a repair shop and since he didn’t have a son decided to teach everything to her.

“What about that kid, oh what’s his name? Hiccup! He knows a lot about engineering.” You said.

“Alright, first of all, do you even know his really name? And second, he’s like my best friend, after you of course, and dating him would be weird. Besides I know he doesn’t like me.” Nik said, you knew she liked him though.

“Yea, yea, his names like Henry or something,” You said, really not sure why she hadn’t started dating him.

“Hinrik,” Nik corrected you, “you know, maybe if you talked to him you might realize he’s actually really pretty cool.”

“Pft, any kid who lets himself be called ‘Hiccup’ is in no way cool.” You said. Nik had tried getting you to talk to him many times and you weren’t about to cave in now. “The kids a total loser. He breaks everything he touches, can’t walk in a straight line to save his life, and the only time he’s ever been with a girl was the Astrid chick, and she was probably taking pity on him.”

Nik rolled her eyes. “He saved her from getting hit by a train and lost his leg in the process. She would have died if he hadn’t been around she was grateful and took him on a date when he got better. That’s all that happed, no pity, just thanks.” She said, knowing the whole story.

“What was she doing nearly getting hit by a train?” you asked. You probably heard the story before cause it happened just before your freshman year but you couldn’t remember.

“She was jogging while listening to music. And Hiccup was walking his dog in the forest trails and heard the music, then heard a train. He ran to the tracks and saw her jogging with a train following not far behind. He ran and pushed her off the tracks, but tripped and his foot got caught under the rail.” Nik, explained as if for the hundredth time.
“He’s still a loser.” You said. He had a track record of being clumsy and you weren’t surprised he tripped.

Nik rolled her eyes. The two of you were walking up to the school. Then there was a rumble of a loud engine, a motorcycle came into the parking lot. It was jet black with red lights hidden under some of the parts creating a glow between the parts. The rider was wearing dark jeans, and a leather jacket with a red skull on the left shoulder and a helmet that covered his entire face.

He stopped the bike and sat up. His body was lean and the leather complimented the bike perfectly. He took off his jet black helmet and patted his brown hair down. His face was very attractive. His green eyes had a sort of sparkle from the morning sun and light stubble on his chin.

“Who is that?” you asked. You didn’t think you had ever seen him before. His green eyes locked with your eyes and he smiled shyly.

“That’s ‘Hiccup’” Nik said almost teasingly.
